Policy, local elections, and serving on boards might sound tedious and boring, but if you are willing to donate some of your time, you truly can be a person that make positive change for yourself and others. This panel will be a discussion about how you can get involved locally, whether as an elected official or as a board member of your local nonprofits, to support tourism/hospitality/vacation rentals. Along with success stories and lessons learned, this “get real” conversation will answer the questions: Wait, can I really do this? Where do I start? What are the options? What are the elected positions? Board positions? How do I go about getting involved? What is the time commitment? How do I successfully manage, work, volunteering and family? Is it stressful?
